The trailer shows Bradley Cooper's hard-edged, renowned restauranteur striving for perfection.
"I don't want my restaurant to be a place where you come and eat," he says in the food porn-heavy trailer.
"I want people to sit at that table and be sick with longing."
After destroying his career with his arrogance and drug use, his character Adam Jones turns a new leaf and returns to London to open a restaurant that will ultimately earn three Michelin stars.
"The kitchen's the only place I felt like I really belonged."
"Maybe I just wanted it really badly, and when I got it, I didn't know how to hold onto it," he says.
Burnt, directed by John Wells, also stars Omar Sy, Uma Thurman, Emma Thompson, Daniel Bruhl, Lily James, Matthew Rhys and Jamie Dornan.
The film was originally called "Chef" then changed to "Adam Jones" before taking on the current title.
Burnt opens in Australia on October 22.
