Bridge of Spies is an incredible story of espionage, struggle and one man's commitment to the edict 'and justice for all'.  Incredibly, it’s all true.

This exclusive featurette will take you behind the scenes with the cast and filmmakers to hear more about the incredible true story of James Donovan and the making of this inspiring film.

Bridge of Spies is in cinemas Thursday.

Steven Spielberg/Tom Hanks collaborating, again

This is the fourth time the duo have worked together and Bridge of Spies is their tour-de-force collaboration.

Bridging the Reality

In this featurette, the cast and filmmakers take us through the unbelievable true story of James Donovan, his defence of accused Russian spy Rudolph Abel, and the tense exchange across the Glienicke Bridge, now known as the Bridge of Spies. We’ll discover Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg’s commitment to getting the details right in order to showcase this incredible moment in history, for all the world to see.

Taking a Stand

As the tagline states, 'In the shadow of war, one man showed the world what we stand for'. This featurette is all about that one man: James Donovan, as portrayed by Tom Hanks. We’ll dive deep into his character, getting an up-close view at the insurance lawyer from Brooklyn. We’ll discover how he was thrust into the centre of the Cold War with the near impossible task of defending an accused Russian Spy. We’ll see how, in the face of all adversity, he chose to take the difficult path and to stand by his convictions. And then we’ll highlight his efforts to free not one but two Americans captured by communist forces, refusing to back down, believing that every life matters.

Spielberg and Spies

One thing that’s clear from all of the existing EPK interviews: Steven Spielberg is the only director that could’ve pulled off the incredible chess game that is Bridge of Spies. We’ll find out why he was instantly attracted to the material from the very beginning. We’ll also see how his drive to make the movie brought in talents like the Cohen Brothers, excited by the opportunity to work so closely with the director.
