Just about every character from the Marvel universe made an appearance in the studio’s latest instalment Captain America: Civil War, which saw rampant in-fighting among the Avengers.
However, one blonde-haired Norse god was noticeably absent from the super-powered shenanigans, and the production company has just offered an explanation why.
In a new short titled Team Thor, Chris Hemsworth reveals that his burly character has been pondering his rejection while enjoying some down time Down Under.
“I guess I’m just taking a break. I needed some ‘me time’ and I came to Australia,” Thor muses in the video which was posted by Marvel Studios on Monday.
The mockumentary style clip goes on to show him living in a small, and very normal looking flat alongside his roommate Daryl while spending his time visiting local primary schools, roasting a pork rump in the sun and interrupting Daryl’s work day by getting him to send “electronic letters” to his fellow Avengers.
The short is directed by Taika Waititi, who is also at the helm of Thor: Ragnarok, the filming of which is currently underway in Queensland.
It will be the third movie in the Thor franchise and sees the return of Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba alongside newcomer Cate Blanchett who will play a mysterious new villain.
