My Mistress

MA15+
Australia, 2014
Genre: Drama, Romance
Language: English
Director: Stephen Lance
Starring: Emmanuelle Béart
What's it about?
The late, great Chrissie Amphlett said it best: It's a fine line between pleasure and pain. Harrison Gilbertson (Tim Winton's The Turning) stars alongside the legendary Emmanuelle Béart (Manon des Sources) in a homegrown provocative romance in which an infatuation between vulnerable teenage romantic Charlie and dominatrix Maggie evolves into something more dangerous. Director Stephen Lance's first feature is an unexpected tale of misplaced love. He has crafted an impressively bold and visually captivating debut.

Language: Spanish
Director: Paco León
Starring: Belén Cuesta, Candela Peña, Natalia de Molina, Alexandra Jiménez, Paco León, Luis Callejo
What's it about?
Paco León’s vibrant sex comedy Kiki, Love to Love follows a collection of lovers through a series of intertwined stories, delivering an outrageously provocative take on what can happen behind closed doors. In modern Madrid, against a scorching summer heatwave, five tales of love and lust unfold. Freely – and savvily – adapted from Josh Lawson’s 2014 comedy The Little Death, it is laugh-out-loud funny with its subversive but honest approach to love and sex. It also manages to be both a hugely pertinent and entertaining celebration of passion, and a reminder that love can take many forms.
