What's it about?
He was an Oxford-educated African king, while she was a white Englishwoman working as a clerk at Lloyd’s of London. Now their 1948 marriage, which caused scandal in Apartheid-stricken South Africa and the British protectorate of Bechuanaland (later Botswana), is the subject of a period drama starring Britain’s David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike. Oyelowo plays Seretse Khama, who in 1965 became independent Botswana’s first president. He was also kgosi (king) of the Bamangwato people, having been crowned at the age of four in 1925. Pike stars as Ruth Williams, who would go on to be the first lady of Botswana between 1966 and 1980.

Even if still not sure about their families’ reactions, they decide to get married in Italy, in the small village from where Antonio’s parents live. What's it about?

Marry Me Marry My Family

Explore the colourful and sometimes chaotic road of intercultural relationships. This original Australian documentary series showcases stories of cross-cultural weddings in Australia and the importance of family traditions and obligations leading up to a milestone moment. With different religions and cultures, these couples have a not more to navigate on their path to wedded bliss. Among the many who share their wedding journey in the series: Fijian Indian–Australian Nandi is caught between two cultures. She feels the pressure juggling her father’s wishes for an extravagant three-day Hindu wedding and her Anglo–Australian fiancé Dan’s desire for a simple Aussie wedding. Greek Australian George always thought he’d marry a Greek girl in an Orthodox Church. Things changed when he met a Malaysian–Indian doctor, Ranmeet, a Sikh who dreams of a traditional wedding in a Sikh temple. And we also hear of Pakistani Australian Muslim Hassan’s dilemma. He loves Rose, a Filipino Catholic, but his parents have already arranged his marriage to his first cousin back in Pakistan.
