Movies and meals are two of the things we do best at SBS, so it's only natural that we combine the two, and match delicious recipes with soul-nourishing films.

Like the very best French confections, you can never get enough of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Amelie

The tale of the perky Parisian is a perennial favourite for SBS audiences, and why not? Andrey Tautou is perfect in her star-making role as a matchmaker from Montmartre, digging beneath the surface of the everyday to find ways to heal hearts and bring love into the lives of those around her.

Amelie is available to watch online at SBS On Demand (link below). Why not whip up this wonderful crème brûlée to enjoy with it?  SBS Food's very own Gabriel Gate has created a peppermint variation on the classic French dish; his simple crème brûlée a la menthe was a hit during the recent Tour de France.

Fancy something more traditional? SBS Food has six other varieties of crème brûlée to choose from!

Whet your appetite even further with this wonderful Amelie food montage.

Bon appetit!
