It is the morning of 26 April, 1986 in the Ukranian town of Chernobyl. Anya and Piotr celebrate their marriage, while Alexei and his son Valery plant an apple tree. Both are interrupted by an explosion at the power station, which would turn into one of the worst radioactive disasters in history. This powerful film explores what happened that fateful day, and follows the lives of these survivors ten years on.
