Two drag queens and a transgender woman are invited to take their drag cabaret act to Alice Springs. Each jump at the chance to escape their domestic problems in Sydney and cross the desert. The 'girls' attempt to overcome prejudice, find meaning, and discover love, on their trip in the big lavender bus.
