John Travolta is back as Chili Palmer, the streetwise mobster-turned-movie-producer from Get Shorty. But this time Chili has abandoned the fickle movie industry and veered into the music business, tangling with Russian mobsters and gangsta rappers and taking a talented, feisty young singer named Linda Moon under his wing. From the recording studio to an Aerosmith concert to the MTV Music Awards, he manipulates events to watch them play out the Chili way, using his signature blend of wiseguy skills and negotiation tactics. It’s a dangerous business, and everyone’s looking for their next big hit…

Everyone is looking for the next big hit.

Chili Palmer (John Travolta) has had enough of the movie business, so in Be Cool he tries out the music industry, when he manages talented young singer, Linda Moon, played by R & B artist Christina Milian. The only problem is - she\'s already under contract. Chili keeps his cool as he sidesteps Russian gangsters and bad ass music producers, to free Linda from her contract, get a hit song and save his own skin.Sadly, Be Cool squanders the talents of its famous cast and is a painful waste of time and money. Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Harvey Keitel and Vince Vaughan are cardboard cut-outs rattling around within a threadbare script that\'s barely amusing. The smaller characters fare better, such as Andre 3000 from the band Outkast and The Rock. Get Shorty was a reasonably fun film, but it?s evident Be Cool is simply cashing in on Shorty\'s popularity to make big bucks before audiences figure out that they\'ve been duped.
