At the Cannes Film Festival, Italian director Alice Rohrwacher reveals her personal connection to The Wonders’ story of a family of beekeepers, and Monica Bellucci shares her thoughts on what she liked about her role and why “the woman makes the actress”. Later, Rohrwacher tells how moving it was to have Sophia Loren hand her the Grand Prix award.

In his Cannes-award winning role, David Gulpilil plays a warrior past his prime who becomes disillusioned with the changes in his community. Charlie’s Country is the actor’s third collaboration with director Rolf de Heer, following The Tracker and Ten Canoes. The film premiered in the Un Certain Regard section to positive reviews. Bennett Miller accepts the Best Director Prize for Foxcatcher, the tragic true story of wrestling brothers Mark and Dave Schultz and coach John du Pont, a paranoid schizophrenic. Actors Channing Tatum, Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo also speak from the film’s earlier press conference about their physical roles and how they approached the challenge of playing real people.
