In December 2010, Iranian writer/director Jafar Panahi (writer/director of internationally acclaimed films such as The White Balloon, The Circle and Offside) was detained and forced to live under house arrest, eventually receiving a 20-year ban on making films. This documentary examines his time locked inside his Tehran apartment and how the filmmaker reacted to his censorship. This heartfelt plea from Panahi cuts through the politics of imprisonment. (Directed by Mojtaba Mirtahmasb, Jafar Panahi. From Iran, in Farsi) (Documentary) (2009)
