The Australian Federal Police has obtained up to 20 arrest warrants for Aussies who travelled to fight in Iraq and Syria.

Australian authorities have issued up to 20 arrest warrants for citizens who travelled to Syria and Iraq to fight with the so-called Islamic State.

It's understood the Australian Federal Police is working with Turkey, where 26-year-old Melbourne Neil Prakash is in custody, to catch the terror suspects.

Prakash is an alleged IS facilitator who has been linked to a New York jihadist Munther Saleh, who hoped to plan a massacre in Times Square and blow up the Statue of Liberty.
