Australian Orlando Marzo has topped more than 10,000 entrants to be crowned the world's best bartender at the 2018 World Class Competition in Berlin.
Mr Marzo participated in a six-month competition involving hundreds of challenges, which concluded in Berlin.
Working out of South Melbourne restaurant Lume, Mr Marzo will spend a year travelling the world to judge competitions and mix innovative drinks as a Diageo representative.
Mr Marzo hailed the competition as a great opportunity to meet the best bartenders in the world.
"Amazing. It's really really incredible. It's the greatest experience in the bar world, it is the biggest cocktail competition," he told Reuters.
"We've all been inspired by great bartenders and then you come here, you get to meet them all. You get to be charged by them and you get to spend quality time with them so it's been really really incredible."
