Coastal residents around Australia are being encouraged to photograph and share images of king tides to raise awareness of sea levels and climate change.
The term "king tide" is used to describe an especially high tide event occurring twice a year.
The Witness King Tides project is coordinated by environmental group, Green Cross Australia, to build a database of images displaying the threat posed by sea level rise across the country.
The group's spokesperson, Elizabeth Resta has told Zara Zaher king tides will affect much of Australia's eastern coast on the 2nd of January.
