Nearly a dozen Australian and global human rights organisations have written to the President of Nauru, calling for the nation's people to be allowed access to Facebook and a number of other recently blocked websites.  

Nearly a dozen Australian and global human rights organisations have written to the President of Nauru, calling for the nation's people to be allowed access to Facebook and a number of other recently blocked websites.

The groups are also calling for the repeal of new public speech offences.

Australia's Director for Human Rights Watch Elaine Pearson told Van Nguyen, the new laws are preventing people from expressing themselves freely.
