Cyber attack threat against Swimming Aust

Swimming Australia has reportedly installed protection against the same type of cyber attacks that plagued the 2016 census website.

Swimming Australia has been reportedly forced to install software to protect it against the same kind of cyber attacks that plagued the 2016 census.

The ABC reports web users on Thursday night were greeted with a brief on screen message, including details of a browser check and the text 'DDoS protection by CloudFlare', before being redirected to the functioning website.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics shut down their online census on Tuesday night after a series of distributed denial-of-service attacks and Swimming Australia has been contacted for comment.
