West Coast defender Mitch Brown will move back to Melbourne for family reasons, and he hopes a club will pick him up.
West Coast defender Mitch Brown will attempt to resurrect his career with a Melbourne-based AFL club after being delisted by the Eagles on Monday.
Brown wanted to return home to Melbourne for family reasons, and told the Eagles of his wish earlier this month.
The 27-year-old managed just 94 games over 10 seasons for the Eagles, and the emergence of Jeremy McGovern saw Brown fall further down the pecking order this year.
Brown can now join a Melbourne-based club as a delisted free agent.
His wife Shae Brown - a professional netballer - left the West Coast Fever in September in order to link up with Collingwood's new netball franchise.
The Eagles also delisted forward Fraser McInnes on Monday, but they will re-draft him via the rookie draft if he's still available.
Premiership defender Sam Butler has signed a one-year contract extension, while forward Tom Lamb has also recommitted to the club for 2017.
