Hundreds take to the streets in all-female march in Iraq

Hundreds of Iraqi women took to the streets of Basra on Sunday in solidarity with the protests across the country.

It was the first women demonstration in the Shiite oil-rich city where demonstrators have been targeting the state's economic interests.

It came after the resignation of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi over the weekend.

At least 400 people have been killed since 1 October, when thousands took to the streets in mass protests in Baghdad and the predominantly Shiite south.
