It's a devastating experience shared by millions of women, yet miscarriage is still rarely discussed.
Sydney woman Linda Anderson shares her story of losing an unborn child and the feelings of isolation, loneliness and grief that followed:
"My husband and I had been married for just over a year when we decided to try for a baby, and it took us about four months to fall pregnant.
"We told the whole world because we were so excited, and I didn't even stop to think there would be a reason why I wouldn’t tell everybody.
"I didn't have an early scan. Some women have scans around six or eight weeks but I didn't have one of those because I didn't think I’d need one."
