Rabbitohs and Lebanon player Adam Doueihi is related to the Wallabies coach, who he says has offered his full support.
Adam Doueihi is a player in demand.
The 19-year-old scored on debut for Lebanon against France in the Rugby League World Cup last weekend.
His father Paul is the cousin of Wallabies coach Michael Cheika.
Adam is a former Australian Schoolboys Rugby representative but is currently committed to rugby league despite his family ties.
"He [Michael] understood that I've always played and enjoyed rugby league from a very young age," Doueihi said.
"He's always said if you want to come back to rugby union, the door is always open which is really supportive for me."
Cheika admits he could try and recruit Doueihi back to rugby union in the future.
"My eye would be there not just exclusively in a role as a relative," Cheika said.
"Also to see a quality player who has a rugby background and you never know what could happen one day."
Doueihi is currently contracted to the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
It's understood a number of rival NRL clubs have enquired about the 19-year-old after his performance against France.
He'll line-up for Lebanon in tomorrow's clash with England in Sydney.
