Key moments from the first half of State of Origin II in Perth.


*4th minute: NSW centre Tom Trbojevic bustles over the line, but is held up by four desperate Queensland players.

8th minute: Try to Tom Trbojevic. NSW launch the ball high into the air. Trbojevic soars over Kalyn Ponga to regain and score the opening try. Nathan Cleary converts to make it 6-0.

17th minute: Penalty try to Queensland. Blues centre Jack Wighton moves off his line to take out Will Chambers. Referees deem Wighton's block prevented Chambers from grounding in time. The conversion locks up the score at 6-6.

23rd minute: Try to NSW's Tyson Frizell. Frizell almost drops the pass from James Maloney but is able to hold on and crash over. The conversion makes it 12-6 to NSW.

25th minute: Driving rain hits Optus Stadium. NSW five-eighth Maloney puts Queensland on the back foot with a 40-20.

32nd minute: NSW blow a try after Maloney's long pass to Josh Addo-Carr is ruled forward.

35th minute: Try to NSW's Tom Trbojevic. James Tedesco opens up Queensland's defence, slipping through a gap and dishes off to Trbojevic who strolls over for his second. The conversion makes it 18-6 to NSW.
