Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie has declared she will support the federal government's full $158 billion tax cut package, meaning it is set to become law.
Independent senator Jacqui Lambie has thrown her support behind the federal government's income tax cuts, guaranteeing the $158 billion package will become law.
"Yes, I will be supporting the tax cuts," she told ABC Radio National on Thursday.
The crossbencher had demanded Tasmania's public housing debt be forgiven in return for her support.
But Senator Lambie has not yet clinched a deal on wiping the state's $157 million debt and is trusting the coalition to deliver on her demand.
"I still need some more time so that we can iron it out properly," she said.
The two Centre Alliance senators and South Australian senator Cory Bernardi have also backed the cuts, which will deliver the government the four crossbench votes it needs to pass the package into law.
