A Brisbane man is in hospital after he suffered an electric shock when lightning struck near his home during a powerful storm.
A Brisbane man suffered an electric shock while taking a shower when lightning struck near his home during a powerful storm in Queensland's southeast.
Queensland Ambulance on Sunday night was called to the home in Ferny Grove in Brisbane to attend the man who was injured "as a result of having a shower during the current electrical storm lightning strike".
He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, up to 100,000 homes are still without power after the storm packing winds up to 100km per hour winds caused blackouts across Brisbane area.
The cities of Logan and Brisbane were most affected, with more than 55,000 homes in Logan and 32,000 homes in Brisbane losing power.
Authorities say a number of schools have been affected and some may be closed on Monday.
Residents are being advised to be careful due to fallen power lines.
