Police say John Donald MacKay, 70, was last seen about 5pm on Sunday in the Bell Brook and Toorak Roads area of Yourdamung Lake, about 30km north-west of Collie.
Police and other emergency services are conducting a land and air search as there are concerns for his welfare.
Mr MacKay is described as light-skinned, with white hair and a moustache, about 181cm tall and a solid build.
He was last seen wearing dark clothing, a wide brimmed hat and steel-capped boots.
