Sydney Kings stars Brad Newley and Jason Cadee are to take up short-term deals to play in the Greek basketball league in the NBL off-season.

Sydney Kings NBL stars Brad Newley and Jason Cadee are set to take up short-term deals to play basketball in Greece.

The Kings have granted Newley (AEK Athens) and Cadee (Kymis BC) permission to take up offers after the club narrowly missed out on the NBL playoffs starting this week.

Shooting guard Cadee will end his Greek stint by the middle of April while the explosive Newley's commitment ends around the end of May before the pair return to the Kings.

Sydney managing director Jeff Van Groningen said the Kings supported players looking to improve their game.

"We are firm believers that our players should have the chance to continue their professional development and retain their sharpness during the NBL off-season," he said,

"It certainly no surprise to us that Brad and Jason have currency in the international market. Both players have ongoing commitments to the Sydney Kings and we look forward to them coming back to us after these short-term stints are complete."
