PM's website taken over by troll, plays loop of 'Scotty Doesn't Know'

A punk song has been put on Prime Minister Scott Morrison's personal website after it was taken over by an internet troll when his ownership expired.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison's personal website has been taken over and now plays the rock song: Scotty Doesn't Know.

An internet troll is taking responsibility for claiming the website after the domain license lapsed overnight.

Instead of displaying information about the prime minister and his policies, the page plays the song about cheating by American band Lustra.

"So, the PM forgot to renew his website and it expired today ... Most fun I've had with $50 in a long time," Jack Genesin wrote on Facebook.

The website "take-over" has been active for more than 12 hours.

The song about cheating by American band Lustra became famous after being included in the 2004 teen film EuroTrip.

The opening line is: "Scotty doesn't know that Fiona and me do it in my van every Sunday."

A Google search for Mr Morrison's website still comes up with sub-categories of prime minister, Electorate of Cook and local and federal news.
