Shots fired outside WA police station

A 65-year-old man has been taken to hospital for assessment after he fired several shots outside a rural West Australian police station.

A man has fired several shots outside a West Australian police station during a rampage through a rural town in the state's south-west.

The man allegedly threatened officers and fired into the air outside Nannup Police Station early on Thursday before driving away and returning to the area armed with a knife.

The 65-year-old has been taken to Bunbury District Hospital for assessment.
