Cast and crew of popular South Korean variety show Running Man have touched down in Australia to film a Down Under special.

The program, in which contestants are pitted against each other in a race against time to solve a series of physical challenges and puzzles in landmarks and cities, has a strong following in its native South Korea, and has been translated into English, Spanish and Arabic.

The variety show has previously visited countries such as Thailand, Macao and Vietnam but the upcoming Australia special will be the first episode of Running Man that takes place in a country outside of Asia.

Television host Yoo Jae-suk and and guests, which have included popular South Korean actors, recording artists, footballers, models and comedians, must complete missions in costumes or with props in order to avoid elimination. Missions have included capture the flag, cooking elaborate dishes, performing scavenger hunts and solving 'whodunnits'.

The guests for the Australian special will be South Korean pop artist and actor Rain and actor and model Kim Woo-bin.

The pair joined regular cast members Yoo Jae-Suk, Haha, Kim Jong Gook, Gary, Ji Suk Jin, Lee Kwang Soo and Song Ji Hyo in Brisbane for shooting and have now taken the show to Melbourne.
