Lead actor Jason Momoa with cast members, including New Zealander Temuera Morrison, took over the red carpet at the Aquaman premiere in Los Angeles.

The cast of Aquaman, including star Jason Momoa, have performed the haka at the film's premiere in Hollywood.

Mr Momoa, who is native Hawaiian and played the lead role in the much-anticipated DC Comics movie, ditched his trident and performed the haka alongside New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison.

The ancient Maori war dance is famously performed before the New Zealand All Black's Rugby Union team face their opponents.

Aquaman - released on 26 December - was filmed on the Gold Coast and featured Australian director James Wan, Australian actor Nicole Kidman and New Zealander Temuera Morrison.

Mr Momoa, who also starred in 'Game of Thrones', previously performed the haka for Mark Hunt - a mixed martial artist from New Zealand - last year.
