Students from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school have responded to the NRA's threats targeting critics of the gun lobby.

Parkland students behind the #NeverAgain movement, created by survivors in the aftermath of the Stoneman Douglas Shooting have responded to NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch’s threats aimed at critics of the gun lobby.

The February 14 shooting left 17 dead and sparked strong criticism of the NRA and calls for tougher gun control in the US.

In a video for NRATV Ms Loesch fired off a warning to journalists, politicians and celebrities who had spoken out against the NRA in the shooting aftermath.

“To every lying member of the media, to every Hollywood phony, to the role model athletes who use their free speech to alter and undermine what our flag represents. To the politicians who would rather watch America burn than lose one ounce of their personal power," she said.

“We’ve had enough of the lies, the sanctimony, the arrogance, the hatred, the pettiness, the fake news”.

Ms Loesch then flipped an hourglass and warned: “time’s up”.

But Sarah Chadwick, a junior at the Florida school, was having none of it.

The video was filmed with her classmates to promote March For Our Lives, a March 24 protest calling for an end to mass shootings in the US.

Ms Chadwick tweeted to Ms Loesch when the video was uploaded.

"To every spokeswoman with an hourglass who uses free speech to alter and undermine what our flag represents... Your Time is running out. The clock starts now,” Ms Chadwick responded.

“We’ve had enough of the lies, the sanctimony, the ignorance, the hatred, the pettiness, the NRA. We are done with your agenda to undermine the safety of the nation’s youth and the individual voices of the American people.”

“We have an hourglass too Dana, you’re not special,” Ms Chadwick tweeted to Ms Loesch when the video was uploaded.

The student’s response was met with mostly praise and support.

“Not sure if you’re aware how much you’re giving the world, kids, but you are. Thank you,” Barbara Schnell tweeted.

“Spot on! When my teen’s school had to text us not to panic that they’re doing a routine lockdown drill… that is not right,” Beth Ashworth tweeted.

“There’s more maturity, intellect and insight in this short, no-nonsense clip, than can be found within the halls of Congress,” Sher Goldesberry said.

Ms Loesch is yet to respond to the video.

Late night host John Oliver took aim at NRATV on his programme Last Week Tonight.

He felt NRATV was used by the NRA to manipulate people’s fears and attract attention.

“The final characteristic of the network is painting a bleak vision of America with threats around every single corner,” Mr Oliver said.
