Tonight NITV premieres a 3 part series commissioned by MTV Africa, Shuga, as part of a campaign about responsible sexual behaviour and tolerance.

The series became a hit and has since chalked up 4 seasons.

Set in Nairobi, Kenya, Shuga is a hard-hitting drama that follows the lives, loves and ambitions of a group of young people whose bright lives and fabulous futures are balanced on a knife edge due to their love of living dangerously.

The series focuses on a modern girl Ayira, who knows what she wants and how to get it.

She develops a passion for an older man at the expense of long-time boyfriend, Ty. It also looks at the life of two lovers, Virginia and Leo, who face various obstacles in their relationships but are determined to make it work.

Shuga airs on Mondays at 9.00pm on NITV.
