Every year Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander artists are invited to submit their creative artworks for the National NAIDOC Poster Competition - with the winning artwork used to create the official NAIDOC poster, distributed across the country to promote NAIDOC week (2-9 July).

Each year a different theme is explored and must be reflected in the artwork. The theme for 2017  is 'Our Languages Matter'.

The winning artwork, as well as being showcased across the country, will also be awarded a $5000 cash prize. All entries will be viewed and judged by the National NAIDOC Committee

'The importance, resilience and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages will be the focus of national celebrations marking NAIDOC Week 2017.'

Check out the gallery of all previous NAIDOC posters from 1972 onwards here. And some of the selections below.

Entries close 5:00PM AEST Monday 06 March 2017. Head here for all the information, terms and conditions and entry form. Best of luck!
