We couldn't let the barber shop pass us by for a good fresh cut when we stopped at Moree on our way to Walgett. The blokes running the business shared their journey that got it steaming.
Steve Mungindi and I set out from Sydney on Wednesday to Walgett via Moree to file some stories for NITV News.
First stop, well we had to get Mungindi a haircut, and where else do you get a fresh one? At South Boyz Cutz in Moree. It was also a great place to do our first yarn!
Inside the barber's shop we met Lloyd Munro and Jerome Smith, and Mungindi was the first in the hot seat for the chop.
"Young, old, black and white, everyone is welcome and made to feel welcome"
Owner, Lloyd spoke to Mungindi about how long they've been in business, the challenges, being an Aboriginal business owner and how they've had to fight to prove themselves in town at the beginning to being a trusted company in Moree.
Jerome also spoke about the barber shop being a place where everyone felt comfortable to go: Young, old, black and white, everyone is welcome and made to feel welcome.
With both of us sporting a deadly new haircut, it was time to make tracks to Walgett and cover some stories about the upcoming rugby league knockout.
