The injury plagued season of North Melbourne midfielder Daniel Wells continues.
Wells’ body has again betrayed him, ruling him out of this weekend’s clash with the Adelaide Crows.
The 31-year-old did not board the Kangaroos’ flight to Adelaide and was hopeful of proving his fitness and then join the team a day later.
But that ploy hasn’t worked, with Wells succumbing to a calf injury.
It’s not the first time this season that injury has ruled out the experienced midfielder.
He’s battled Achilles soreness for the past two seasons and a corked thigh rules him out of the clash with Carlton just a few weeks ago.
Wells isn’t the only player missing in action this weekend, with Jarrad Waite also failing to fly.
The pair’s omission will be helped somewhat by the return of both Andrew Swallow and Ben Cunnington.
Captain Swallow is back from concussion, whilst Cunnington has recovered from a quad strain.
North Melbourne will meet an in-form Adelaide, with the Crows rested coming off the bye and currently on a four game winning run.
The Kangaroos currently sit third on the table, with Geelong and the Sydney Swans above them.
