Jessica Mauboy will make her debut performance on Thursday morning when she is joined by children from Yipirinya State School to sing "Five Kangaroos" in a clip which celebrates the 44th season of Sesame Street.

Carbon Media founder Wayne Denning spoke to Around The Traps about their involvement.

"Five Kangaroos. Wow. That was a little journey. We wanted to make something for Sesame and bring it to Australia and excite them about who we are and what we're about," he said.

"I went to New York in the depth of winter and said 'once you come to our beautiful country, come see our kids and share our culture.' They agreed and thought the idea was fantastic."

Carbon media will become the first Australian production company to work with Sesame Street.
