2014 is already shaping up to be one of the most cray cray years for Asian pop. Especially considering the k-pop, c-pop, t-pop, j-pop, pop-pop craze is filtering it's way onto the international stage more and more with every hit, garnering so many new fans along the way.
For those of you who have been here all along in the world of Asian pop fandom, you'll be needing to know what to prepare yourself for this year. Check out our below predictions for 2014.
For the newbies - time to get invloved!
SONE (Girls' Generation)
It's a hard year ahead for those SONES with a crush on one of the members of Girls Generation, after some of the girls revealed their relationship status; both Yoona and Sooyoung are happily dating. On the plus side, Girls Generation will be releasing new music this year.
It's already shaping up to be a big year ahead for fans of SHINEE. ONEW kicked off the year with a song for a Korean drama "Miss Korea", the boys have performed a concert for SM Week and they'll be releasing soon.
For fans of BIGBANG, 2014 is shaping up to be an expensive year with the boys continuing their Japanese Dome Tour into mid-January. Booking a flight with so little time left can't be cheap, let alone the concert tickets and hotel bookings!
U-KISS fans can only hope that the boys will develop a taste for long-haul flights after their January concert dates in the USA. Cross your fingers they get back to Korea and book tickets to Australia, having fallen in love with airline food and in-seat entertainment. The only downside we can see is that Australia is 4 hours closer than New York.
BLACK JACKS (2NE1)
2014 is the year that Black Jacks petition to change the name of Australia to "And More". On Christmas day 2NE1 released a poster promoting their world tour, listing 11 countries they're visiting, including the mysterious land of "and more". Will it be our year?
You know something? See what we did there? TVXQ hit the ground running with a new sound on their single “something” and a new album too, so with 12 tracks on the album fans can look forward to a year of new music (if you only listen to one song a month that is).
Who do you predict is going to blow your socks off this year?
