Yet another 2 members of AKB48 have announced their graduations today: Ayaka Kikuchi and Haruka Katayama (pictured).

Haruka is the 15th member of the AKB franchise to announce graduation since January 2014.

So what happens to the girls after they leave the comfort of j-pop’s biggest machine? Here are 5 interesting “Where are they now?” stories…

 

Yuki Usami 

A-Team

Graduated: 2006

Yuki is currently a radio show host: one of the regular hosts of the Japanese radio show Music Salad.

Michiru Hoshino

A-Team

Graduated: 2007

Michiru graduated from AKB48 in June 2007 to pursue her solo career.

 

Masuyama Kayano

A-Team

Graduated: 2007

She later formed the group Choco & Mimi with Teramoto Yukika and also acted in the live-action series of ChocoMimi where she portrayed Mimi Nekota. She also appeared in the Japanese TV shows Shokojo Seira and Maou... but we're not sure what she's been up to in recent years!

Nozomi Kawasaki

A-Team

Graduated: 2009

After graduating in February of 2009, she launched the men's apparel brand 'ANTIMINSS' and has been active as a talent. She also married a foreign model.

Mai Ōshima

A-team

Graduated: 2009

Mai Oshima made her solo debut in 2010 with the single “Mendokusai Aijō”.
