Whether you’re a fan or new to the works of Japanese production power house Studio Ghibli, this forthcoming Australian showcase tour will be your opportunity to lose yourself in the imaginative animated mind-scapes of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata in cinematic style.  

Presented by Madman, the Studio Ghibli showcase will be screening at Dendy & other specially selected cinemas in all of Australia’s capital cities, including Hobart, from October 9 to December 10. Anime fans will be able to see a selected range of Ghibli films, from the classic My Neighbor Totoro (1988) to the newly successful The Wind Rises (2013).

The showcase also includes the documentary "The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness"; where award-winning director Mami Sunada as she follows the key personnel at Ghibli over the course of a year.

In disturbing news this August, Studio Ghibli announced they will be restructuring their company and outsourcing their Animation department while the studio “takes a break” from production.
