Here’s why next year will ROCK. You heard it from the horses mouth! Wait... did I just call myself a horse?

5. GEEK MOVIES GALORE!

Because PopAsians love Hollywood movies, too, right? I’m especially looking forward to the action thriller ‘Blackhat’, which stars Asian Pop star Leehom Wang AND Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth. The film is set to be released on the 16th January 2015 in the U.S.

A few more to be excited about:

Into the Woods, Cinderella, Jupiter Ascending, Divergent: Insurgent, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Pitch Perfect 2, Tomorrowland, Jurassic World, Despicable Me: Minions, The Fantastic Four, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2, Maze Runner: Scorch Trials, Hotel Transylvania 2, Jem and the Holograms, Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens…

AND if you’re wondering why I’m blatantly not mentioning the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of best-selling manga Attack on Titan (out in 2015), it’s because there is a gut-grinding possibility that it won’t feature the series’ most popular character - Levi Ackerman. Instead, new, non-canon characters have been introduced. I’ll leave it at that, because I JUST.CAN’T.

4. GEEK EVENTS!

Who else is ready for next year’s KCON, Supanova, SMASH, PAX, Comic Con, [insert annual event here]?  It’s the ultimate gathering of awesome people just like you. Here’s what my event calendar looks like so far, and I haven’t even added concerts!

3. NEW ANIME!

New seasons of Kamisama Hajimemashita, Kuroko no Basuke, Tokyo Ghoul, Hetalia, and K! Plus heaps of brand new titles yet to be revealed and confirmed.

2. NEW MUSIC!

EXO have announced their comeback in January and there’s a new Japanese release from Kpop boyband SHINee in March. 2NE1’s CL and f(x)’s Amber have promised solo debuts (CL's is in the US) for fans to look forward to. Japanese band Sekai No Owari has revealed that their new album ‘Tree’ will be out on the 14th of January, and rumours are ripe that Taiwanese pop star Leehom Wang is finally releasing something new. Much excite!

1. THE UNKNOWN...

While it’s nice to look forward to things you KNOW are happening, it’s even better when you’re taken by surprise or just daydreaming about the POSSIBILITIES. Sudden concert announcement in Australia, perhaps? A mysterious K-pop star joining SBS PopAsia in 2015? You suddenly win a competition to watch an Asian Pop concert overseas? Who knows? That’s the most exciting bit!
