Kato Shigeaki from J-Pop group NEWS is having his debut novel "Pink and Gray" made into a movie, that will star Hey! Say! JUMP! member Nakajima Yuto as the lead role!

The novel has already had a manga adaption, but this will be the first of Kato Shigeaki's novels to get an adaption to the silver screen.

TokyoHive has reported that filming for “Pink and Gray” will begin this month and that Kato is happy with the choice of Nakajima for the lead role.

"There are very few opportunities for juniors to act in films, but if it is Nakajima, I believe he will do well!"

The movie is also expected to deviate slightly from the novel, with scenes appearing in the movie that weren’t in the book.

“Pink and Gray” tells the story of two friends who are in the entertainment industry but have very different careers, one becomes a star and the other is only able to get supporting roles.

The “Pink and Gray” movie is expected to come out next year.
