There’s a new hotel opening in the town of Kabukicho in the heart of Shinjuku on April 24th which is sure to give you a good night’s rest... who doesn't want the hand of Godzilla hanging over your head as you slumber?
The entire hotel is themed around the classic Japanese film Godzilla. The Godzilla Room on the 13th floor features a chamber full of props from the Godzilla films, including a large model of the iconic kaiju. Even the bathroom is decorated in Godzillas! [hello stage fright]. Arguably the best feature is Godzilla’s hand bursting through the wall to hang over your bed, to keep you feeling safe as you sleep.
On the 9th floor the Godzilla View Rooms allow you to see the beast creeping at your window.
The hotel building also includes a Toho movie theater complex: the film studio responsible for the Godzilla franchise. Just watch out for the gigantic Godzilla head hangs out of the Toho Cinema’s roof to glare at the people walking the Shinjuku streets below.
