2NE1's CL, who's currently in the US promoting for her forthcoming debut there talked to FADER Magazine about her freedom to write her own music.

CL is under the management of Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepson, Ariana Grande) explained to FADER's Alex Frank, "I don't want a 'good' image. I'm not the standard Asian girl," she continued, "I think about this a lot: there is not a single Asian pop star who has done this."

CL then went on to talk about how her approach to music differs in the US from Korea. She said, "Back in Korea, I'm always in the studio with YG people. I'd be given a song, and I'd cut it. But here, I write completely by myself. The last time I recorded at the house, I just invited my friends over to feel a little more natural. I'm feeling artistic."
