At her recent concert in Changsha, China recently C-pop star G.E.M was confronted with hateful signage held by “fans” which read “Get out of Showbiz” and “G.E.M Tang, you are not a singer”

G.E.M was taken completely taken aback by the disgruntled “fans” as were her real fans, who retaliated by throwing water bottles at the signs… and people holding them.

So what caused this disgruntled behaviour?

According to Asian pop news, G.E.M’s agency refused to allow her to perform at a concert 3 days earlier due a dispute with the organiser over her performance fee. At the Changsha concert, G.E.M’s agency prevented her from going on stage again; this time because the sponsor of the event used her image to promote it without permission.

Finally G.E.M’s agency allowed her to go on stage to perform to the 10,000 strong crowd.

Although unconfirmed, the disruptions may have had an affect on the mood of some punters.
