If the Dragon Ball fans in your life have suddenly started looking happier than this guy:

That's because a new Dragon Ball anime series this way comes!

Hot off the heels of the latest 'Dragon Ball Z' movie (Dragon Ball: Revival of “F”) being released in Japan, a new Dragon Ball anime series is expected to be released this year.

Toei Animation announced that “after 18 long years of waiting” they will be producing the latest Dragon Ball series, as a sequel to Dragon Ball Z. They’re expecting the sequel to not only be loved by existing fans, but to draw in a new generation as well.

So, what’s the story about?

It’s set on an Earth that has become peaceful, after the defeat of Majin Buu. There’s word that a villain will emerge (as they always do) but this one will be stronger than Freeza and Buu. After that, there’s not too much more information.

What we do know is that Dragon Ball Super is set for a release in July this year, which isn’t that far away!

Which leaves one question for Dragon Ball fans....

What do you think this new series will contain?

And while we're about it, here's the trailer for the latest Dragon Ball Z movie, if you haven't seen it yet.

*I mean, we’ve had plenty of time to see all of the Dragon Ball storyline, except for the latest movie but you know what it’s like when you’ve got a ‘To Watch’ anime list....
