BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe has announced that the Sword Art Online video games will be getting a Western release! INCLUDING AUSTRALASIA!

Quick recap for people living under rocks and not watching awesome anime while they were under said rocks...

Sword Art Online is an anime series with a huge following. It’s about an immersive video game (that uses technology like the Occulus Rift) to transport players to the magical world of Aincrad.

On launch day, thousands log into the VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Play Game).

There’s only one problem... No one can log out. The game’s creator has locked them all in the game. The only way out is to beat the game. If you die in the game, you die in real life (making PuGs an even scarier prospect than they are already!).

Now, we can play that game!  Which no doubt will have some people nervous, should there be a virtual reality/Occulus Rift add-on at a later date (because of obvious reasons).

But who cares about that when the graphics look so pretty!

LOOK!

Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment will be available on the PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®4! Followed by Sword Art Online: Lost Song for PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®Vita at a later date.

No release dates have been set, but BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe have said to expect them this year!

EEEK!
