Vampire Hunter D has been given the go ahead for a TV series!
While we wait for more information, let’s look at 5 vampire anime that don’t suck :P Or do suck! HAHA! PUNS!
No, those guys in the red hats and coats you see at SupaNova and SMASH are not the Spanish Inquisition! (Or they might be because NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!!).
Chances are that they’re cosplaying Hellsing.
If you like animes that are all about the struggle to protect the public and hold back the tide of dark forces, then you’ll love this.
Also, there’s a character called Alucard…..ALUCARD!
I can't believe I almost forgot this one! I mean....It's Blade. BLADE!
3. Shi Ki.
I know, I mention Shi Ki in almost every anime list. Blame Jamaica dela Cruz from that!
It’s truly one of the best, terrifying, anime series I’ve ever seen. It actually stopped me from sleeping for two whole days. It’s about a remote villiage, struck down by a deadly illness, which may have something to do with the new family who just moved into a mansion on the hill…..
2.Cross Academy: Vampire Knight
Can vampires and humans co-exist? That's the question the series attempts to answer. But also it’s like if Ouran High was a horror series. They never seem to do any actual home work....
1. Vampire Hunter D
This will always be one of my favourite anime’s of all time. I can watch it with the English dubs without wincing, the animation is that fine line, oldskool style that doesn’t appear as much these days and the storyline is more complex than you might think.
There are two Vampire Hunter D movies and I think you should watch both!
As such the upcoming TV series from Unified Pictures and Digital Frontier will have a lot to live up to.
