Today marks the opening of a new kooky café in Harajuku in Tokyo entitled the Kawaii Monster Café! The café is themed to present “a brand-new TOKYO that no one has seen before” a mantra that is part of the city’s Tokyo Olympics tourism campaign.

There are numerous themed sections of the cafe: a “mushroom disco”, the “milk stand” featuring a giant bunny drinking milk from a baby’s bottle, the “bar experiment” where you sit underneath a giant jellyfish to drink and a “mel-tea room” decked with oversized macaroons and drooling lips.

If you’re one to take photographs of your food, you will be in heaven as the café boasts delicious, fun, and photogenic food. Check out the menu here.

The Kawaii Monster Café staff will also promote Tokyo’s Harajuku fashion. Check out their outfits! The girls’ costumes were designed by fashion blogger Misha Janette.
