Opening themes, ending themes, anime themes are the best themes of all!

With SMASH!'s I Love Anisong concert only days away, it seems only right to compile a list of anime theme songs that have a special place in our hearts. Well, my heart... And by heart I mean the block of ice in my chest.

6. Love Live!

(Bokura wa Ima no Naka de–Muse)

Love Live! Is an anime about high school girls who become idols to save their school. But it’s more than that, Muse (the anime Idol group actually sing their own opening theme.

The cute is too much.

5.Black Butler

(Enamel- SID)

If Sebastian was going to love anything other than classical music, I like to think he’d enjoy this opening theme for Black Butler.

It's rock centred, with notes of techno and any anime song that can't do that much, isn't worth it's salt.

Does this song match with the anime perfectly? "Yes, my lord".

4. Reconguista in G

(Blazing- GARNiDELiA)

GARNiDELiA are pretty much your go-to group when it comes to anime openings. But the reason I love this one most? It's got those belting anime vocals that we want to hear, while also having a slightly frenetic sound that raises your heart beat.

3. Ouran High Host Club

(Sakura Kiss- Chieko Ochi)

There are few songs in this world that start and can immediately take you back to the first moment you heard them, but this is what Sakura Kiss is for me. For many, it was the introduction to some of our first real anime crushes….

Notice me….Mori-senpai…

2.Tokyo Ghoul

(Unravel- T.K from Ling Tosite Sigure)

This could easily be number one. It hits those feels, sums up the complex emotions in Tokyo Ghoul and it’s just…

This is me now.

Despite all of that, it would be impossible for me to not have this as number 1 because first place has to go to....

1.Sword Art Online

(LiSA- Crossing Field)

Look, Sword Art Online is something you need in your life if you’re an MMORPG player. LiSA is someone you need in your life because you deserve to treat your ears to good music.

End of discussion.

As always though, my list is probably missing the one song you expected to be on it, right? So....

What are your favourite anime songs?
