2. Where Are We Going, Dad? (South Korea)
MBC was the one to introduce this babysitting show in 2013. There is no fancy plot here, just a few celebrity dads and their attempt at parenting. Pretty much what goes on in homes with kids. There were some who were against the idea of using children to boost rating, but for most parts, the Korean – and worldwide audience seem to not mind. There is also a Chinese version now!
3. The Team Fight! (Japan)
The best way to rock out? According to this wacky Japanese show, the only way to prove your rock star status is with a game of dodge ball. Rock stars battle it out over a game on The Team Fight! But wait, there’s more. Instead of a ball, rock group members must dodge everything from vacuum cleaners, gymnasts, bowling balls and more.
4. Hidden Singer (South Korea)
This singing-survival show was revolutionary when it premiered. Each episode, 100 audience members try to work out to spot the real singer from the wannabes -- they all sing the original singer's song. You’ll be amazed at the top-notch impersonations and also the ability for the singers to fail at sounding like themselves.
5. Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!! (Japan)
This show has been serving laughs since 1989. Hosted by the comic duo, Downtown and Hōsei Tsukitei, the show’s most popular segment is the Batsu games where cast members have to hold their laughter while subject to ridiculous situations lasting for as long as 24 hours!

6. Tore! (Japan)
Talk about being under pressure! In this unusual Japanese game show, contestants must answer 7 questions about a topic while, erm, being mummified alive! Answer too late, and you meet your tomb!
7. Wonderful Friends (China)
Starring Li Yuchun, Ni Ni, Myolie Wu, Huang Xuan, Du Haitao and Du Tianhao, this Hunan TV show banked on cuteness overload to draw in viewers. In a bizzare move, the stars became zoo keepers as they were assigned jobs from giving elephants pedicures to dressing up chimpanzees. While the program drew in The show received a wave of criticism for using animals as entertainment.
8. If You Are the One (China)
What’s more entertaining than watching someone trying to find love? Watching someone trying to find love and getting rejected, of course. If You Are the One is a popular matchmaking program that boasts a viewership of 50 million per episode. From laughter to tears, this show features one male contestant and a panel 24 women. Airing throughout the world, it’s also available at SBS On Demand.
