SM Entertainment released a statement last week that stated its win over Tao in China. According to the agency, The Intermediate People's Court in Qingdao ruled that Tao violated the law by not returning the payment that he received from SM Entertainment following his departure from EXO. The court ruled that Tao should pay back the amount owed along with interests. It's not yet known how much the damages will be.
Lawsuits against Kris and Luhan are also pending.
SM Entertainment announced on Sep.22 that it has filed a formal complaint against Tao in the Chinese court. Through a press release, the agency said that Tao and the production company that helped produce Tao's album will be sued for violating the contract Tao signed with SM.
EXO's Tao is the latest member to take legal action against his own management company in an effort to dissolve his current contract.
As reported by Kukmin Ilbo, Tao submitted his lawsuit at Seoul Central District Court yesterday and will be using the same lawyer that has represented both Kris and Luhan.
SM Entertainment has now released a statement in response, they said, "With experts and partners in Korea and China, we will respond by simultaneously taking action in Korea and China. We plan to firmly deal with Tao's illegal promotions through lawsuits and other means of legal action."
Looks like this is just the beginning of yet another lengthy legal battle.
